This study examines the effective use of social media strategies and policies in shaping international relations and enhancing government–citizen communication. With the growing dominance of digital platforms as the primary mode of interaction, social media has emerged as a powerful tool for increasing exposure and participation, particularly among younger generations. As millennials and Gen Z, who are highly internet savvy, constitute a large share of the global population, their influence on governance and public discourse has significantly expanded. In the Philippines, where social media use remains widespread, digital platforms play a crucial role in enabling citizens to express opinions, engage with governance, and influence political narratives. The government leverages the attention generated on these platforms to strengthen public engagement and legitimacy. By exploring these dynamics, the study highlights the transformative potential of social media in fostering participatory governance and addressing the challenges of the digital era.
